Are you getting an error in the QuickBooks Web Connector along the lines of  "The application trying to connect to QuickBooks does not support QuickBooks Pro.  Please contact the manufacturer of your application for a version that does support QuickBooks..."

This issue is due to a digital certificate that Intuit uses in the Web Connector expiring. They have provided an updated file that is signed with a new certificate.

See https://intuit.me/cert for details.

It is a good idea to have your IT department take care of these steps. Benji Pays cannot support individual Web Connector installations.

Please see the high level steps below.

9:00PM PST Aug 24th - UPDATE: We are seeing reports from other users that the Digital Certificate issue has been resolved by Symantec, and that this has fixed the issue for customers.  We can confirm that many of our customers' synchronizations are now working.  If needed, please re-install the latest web-connector (2.0.3.215) if you have attempted the fix provided by intuit and attempt to sync again.

2:40PM PST Aug 24th - UPDATE: Canadian QuickBooks Desktop Users. We are still waiting on an update from Intuit at this time. We spoke with Intuit Developer support in the last hour and they once again confirmed they are aware of this issue, and are working on a fix. We will continue to keep you updated.

Update Aug 24 - 9:45AM - See below tips and screen shots related to showing file extensions. Some users were replacing the wrong file in step 4. c) of the https://intuit.me/cert page

Update Aug 23 - 1:15PM PST - QuickBooks Desktop Canadian Edition Users

UPDATE For Canadian QuickBooks users: We have heard from Intuit that they are still working on a fix for Canadian Editions of QuickBooks for this issue. If the steps are not working for you, you will need to wait until we have further information from Intuit. We will continue to keep you posted.

Update Aug 23 - 10:44AM PST

From Intuit support:

From the development team: you have to have the latest version of QBWC installed and then do the patch. If I remember correctly, CA (Canadian QuickBooks) did not have QBWC installed automatically, so you might have to uninstall and reinstall the latest and then get the patch. (We are working to update the QBWC downloads with this latest patch.)

You may need to uninstall the web connector, download the latest version 2.0.3.215 from intuit, then patch it with one of the .exe files from the https://intuit.me/cert page as per below.

  1. Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest version for you QuickBooks Desktop under Help >> Update QuickBooks Desktop
  2. Make sure you have the latest QuickBooks Web Connector (2.3.0.215). Open The web connector, in the top of the web connector window, the version number is shown. If it is not the latest, download the latest here. Uninstall the old version first in windows control panel (make sure you close QuickBooks first). Follow the instructions at the link to extract the files from the downloaded file and then run the installer as administrator. This step is important, the steps in the link below may not work if you are on an older version of the Web Connector
  3. Go to https://intuit.me/cert and follow those steps
  4. When you run everything again for the first time, it's slow, you are waiting for a certificate window to open when you run the web connector and try to sync with Benji Pays, once that's done it's once again quite slow and then it syncs.

When replacing the file

Make sure you have "hide extensions for known file types" turned off:

if you see the below, where the QBWebConnector file has no ".exe" extension showing, follow the steps to show extensions.

You should now see the below.  Rename the QBWebConnector.exe, not the QBWebConnector.exe.config file.

More details from other users can be found on this help thread on intuits site.  If the steps in the link above do not work for you, you may find some tips from other users here:
