Maximum number of cards reached error with Worldline / Bambora Gateway connection

Modified on Tue, 18 Jun at 1:06 PM

Are you or your customers getting a message that the Maximum number of cards has been reached when adding a payment profile or submitting a card request with Benji Pays?

This is due to a limitation in Bambora and may be solved by changing a configuration setting in Bambora, or by deleting old, unused cards from your Bambora Gateway. This is unique to the Bambora Gateway and should not affect our other gateway integrations.

This issue is often more common with our customers who have been using Bambora for some time prior to connecting with Benji Pays, and who didn't import all their customer's cards into Benji Pays.

The video below shows this issue and the resolutions in detail.

Please note that whenever possible you should manage your card profiles in Benji Pays and not directly in Bambora,  if you manage them in Bambora, Benji Pays may have profiles pointing to the incorrect card or cards that no longer exist in Bambora.

Step 1: Make sure your Maximum cards shown setting in Bambora is set to 5 (this is the highest it can be set to.

In Bambora, go to Configuration >> Payment Profile Configuration

  1. Uncheck "Require unique order numbers"
  2. Uncheck "Do not allow profile to be created with billing information duplicated from an existing profile"
  3. Uncheck "Do not allow profile to be created with card data duplicated from an existing profile"
  4. Change the "Maximum number of cards shown" to 5

Step 2: Delete any old, unused or expired cards for each customer that is experiencing this error message, either in Benji Pays, or if the profiles are not in Benji Pays, then directly in Bambora.
