Add a Benji Pays Pay Now Button to Gorelo Invoices

Gorelo can add a Pay Now button to every invoice PDF it generates. This guide shows you how to point that button at your Benji Pays payment page so your customers can pay their Gorelo invoices online with a single click.

When a customer clicks the button, they are taken to your Benji Pays payment page with the invoice number and invoice total already filled in.

Important: Benji Pays looks up the invoice using the invoice number. Make sure your Gorelo invoices always have an invoice number and that the number matches the invoice in QuickBooks or Xero.

Prerequisites

• Gorelo is connected to your QuickBooks Online or Xero account, and your invoices and customers sync from Gorelo to your accounting system.
• Benji Pays is connected to that same QuickBooks Online or Xero account.
• You have permission to edit invoice templates in Gorelo.

Step 1: Turn on invoice total matching in Benji Pays (recommended)

IMPORTANT: Turn this setting on BEFORE you copy your custom payment link in Step 2. It is an important security feature, so please do not skip it.

1. Log in to Benji Pays.
2. Go to Settings > Customer Portal Settings.
3. Turn on Require transaction amount on pay now invoice links to match the invoice's total.
4. Click Save.

Step 2: Copy your Gorelo payment link from Benji Pays

1. In Benji Pays, go to Settings > Custom Payment Links.
2. Scroll down to the PSA/ERP and other 3rd Party Payment Links section.
3. Find the Gorelo logo and click Copy next to the Default link.

The link will look like this:

https://yourportal.benjipays.com/portal/pay/?invoiceNumber={{invoicenumber}}&transactionAmount={{totalamount}}

{{invoicenumber}} and {{totalamount}} are Gorelo variables. Gorelo replaces them with the real invoice number and total when it generates each invoice PDF, so paste the link exactly as copied. Do not type in a real invoice number or amount.

If you have more than one payment gateway connected for a currency, use the gateway-specific Gorelo link listed below the Default link instead. It sends payments to the gateway named on that row. Contact our support team if you are not sure which link to use.

Step 3: Add the Pay Now button in Gorelo

1. Log in to Gorelo.
2. Go to Settings > Billing > Invoice Template.
3. Select the template you send to customers, for example Standard.
4. Open the General section.
5. Toggle on Show Pay Now.
6. Choose Custom Link.
7. Paste the Benji Pays link you copied in Step 2.
8. Click Submit.

Repeat these steps for each Gorelo invoice template you use.

Step 4: Test it

1. Create a test invoice in Gorelo and wait for it to sync to QuickBooks or Xero, and then to Benji Pays.
2. Generate the invoice PDF and click Pay Now.
3. Confirm the Benji Pays payment page opens with the correct invoice number and total pre-filled.

Notes

• The invoice must exist in your accounting system and in Benji Pays before the customer clicks the link. If a customer sees an "invalid link" message, check that the invoice has synced and that its total in Benji Pays matches the total on the PDF. See Why aren't my custom payment links working?
• Because the Pay Now button lives inside the invoice PDF, some email filtering services may flag or block emails that contain links inside attachments. If customers report not receiving invoices, consider sending invoices from Benji Pays instead.
• Payments made through this link are recorded in Benji Pays and applied to the matching invoice in QuickBooks or Xero the same way as any other Benji Pays payment.
