Can I Use Different Currencies for One Customer's Card?

Sure, it depends on your accounting system and payment gateway. Here's how it works:


  • If you're using QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, a customer can only be invoiced in one currency. 

  • To use multiple currencies, create separate customer accounts in QuickBooks for each currency.

  • To process one customer's card with different currencies using Benji Pays, you'll need a Benji Pays customer profile for each currency-specific QuickBooks customer account.

Xero Accounting:

  • With Xero, you can invoice a customer in multiple currencies. But the details vary based on your Payment Gateway.

  • If you use Moneris, you'll need a separate Benji Pays profile for each Moneris Gateway (one for Canadian Dollars, one for US Dollars).

  • If you use Xero with a Payment Gateway like Stripe, Elavon, or Global Payments that supports different currencies in a single connection, one Benji Pays profile for the Xero customer is enough. The gateway will handle the currency conversion.
