What's the difference between Customers and Payment Profiles?

Modified on Tue, 19 Dec 2023 at 07:41 AM

Customers can have zero, one, or many payment profiles. A payment profile is a credit card or bank account that is linked to one of your accounting customers in Benji Pays.

Payment Profiles can be managed on each customer's page by clicking their name in on the customer page or the customer side navigation, or under Payment Profiles menu, payment profiles can also be enabled or disabled, updated and edited under the Actions column as seen in the screenshot below.

Click here for adding a new payment profile.

You have fine grained control over how a customers invoices are processed, and whether or not a payment profile is enabled or disabled for Auto Processing.

The screenshot below shows the toggle button for enabling and disabling a payment profile.

If a customer has Auto Processing disabled in their customer settings, then Benji Pays will skip all their invoices when processing your payments. You will not see these in your daily reports.

If a customer has Auto Processing enabled in their customer settings, then Benji Pays will process their invoices, and will use any payment profiles for the customer that are enabled for Auto Processing.
